"For the first time on record, the Chinese Communist party has lost all control, with the population of 20,000 in this southern fishing village now in open revolt." So begins Telegraph correspondent Malcolm Moore's report of what he has personally witnessed in the fishing village of Wukan, Guangdong over the past few days. Enraged over government land grabs, villagers have now overrun local authorities and driven police out. Bus pushes anxious passengers

This amazing incident happened. A SBS Volvo B10M Mk-III bus pushes crowds of passengers at Kranji MRT Station Bus Stop.

From close observation, the passengers were to blame for this incident as they were too anxious and the driver couldn't see as the bus was full and his left view was blocked. This serves as a message to be patient as this COULD BE PREVENTED

Eversince this video was published, SBS Transit have already stationed staff at the bus stop to prevent these incidents from happening in the future.

Drivers' right for sure. How can such a long bus stop on a two-lane road? Like seriously? 3 ways: 1) Stop on the road and let the passengers in which will take bout 1-2 mins. 2) Stop the bus on the road, open the door and signal them to move back for the bus to steer in (More courteous manner) 3) Just shove them in like what the video depicts.

Considering low-risk and time-saving, Choice 3's the best way to solve this issue.

The driver has every right to ensure the safety of the people on board the bus. I'm a Malaysian myself and i used to take the bus after work opposite Kranji mrt station.

well i have to admit, its very difficult to stand there during rush hour.

The driver is not to be blamed at all..he has no choice but to do that as he can't stop the bus in the middle of the road.

These people are very unmatured as you know how malaysian government brought up up the Nation.. but still The malaysians are the one's to be blamed..

I agree with those who say the driver is not at fault. As we all can see, his view was obstructed by the passengers inside the bus, and he might not, in most possibility, expect passengers to actually be waiting on the road and rushing towards the bus.

Who does that by way ? Kiasu as many Singaporeans are, we just don't do that because we know it's dangerous.

First of all, this incident look like an ordinary daily affair which happened everywhere.

Nobody to blame but if there is a need to point a finger at, first should be tintinspartan who filmed down this incident and posted on net. If this video did not come with the title "Bus pushes anxious passengers", there will not have much talking point. The word "Pushes" gave an impression that the driver was at fault and I believed tintinspartan must had thought so when he or she posted this video.

Actually, both are to blame. The people for being anxious to get on the bus. Other, the bus driver should just skip this stop becoz lookin inside the bus, it is very packed and it is useless to take in more. And the Malaysians takin de bus should chill too... No matter what, first bus or last bus, it will still be jammed at the couseway, it's just a matter of long or short.

When I reached Kranji, I would always see quite a number of people alighting (sometimes even students in school uniform!). I wonder what they would they be doing there. For those who don't know, the bus driver CANNOT alight or pick up any passengers if the bus is not within the bus bay. That's a procedure they will have to abide, unless there's no way to stop within the bus bay.

Both parties at fault. SMRT are 10 times more better than Transits. Transits do not have any fixed timing. eg, I usually takes bus no. 254 and 79 at boon lay interchange. Damn, I have to wait for 45 mins. queueing up for almost 1 hour and worst off all, the drivers can apply for F1 racing. They drive the bus like nobody business. Mostly the double deckered bus.

I wish SMRT will takeover all the public transportation in Singapore.

Foreign talent disappointed with new cooling measures for Singapore property market

The Singapore property market is bracing for a slowdown, with experts predicting a steep drop in transaction volume and prices over the next few months.

This comes after tougher residential property measures kicked in on Thursday, hours after they were announced on Wednesday night.

Under the new measures, foreigners and companies must pay an additional stamp duty of 10 percent of the value of residential property purchases in Singapore.

Permanent residents who buy a second property and citizens who buy three or more properties will pay an extra 3 percent.

The new stamp duty is on top of the prevailing fees of between one and three per cent.

Property buyers hit hardest by the new measure would be foreigners like Norman Lu.

The 34-year-old healthcare consultant arrived in Singapore a year ago to work in a multinational company.

Mr Lu is renting a place, but in the last three months he has been looking to buy a condominium in Paya Lebar or Braddell. However the new rules have put a stop to such plans.

He said: "We are very disappointed. Even though we are foreigners, we have been working in Singapore for a year, we also contribute to this country. So as a foreigner, we feel that the government does not welcome us."

Mr Lu said he was on the verge of closing a deal, but will need to evaluate his options now.

He said: "(There is) 80 per cent (chance that) I will not buy now. I will wait for one year, then I can get PR (permanent resident status) then I will buy a private condo or buy an HDB flat."

His other options include leaving Singapore, "because I can easily find another job opportunity in another country" and "if property owners drop the price by 10 to 15 per cent, then I will buy a condo immediately because I want to stay in my own property."
