Actually, behind all the cuteness that we see, the dancers are sweating profusely and struggling to breathe. It's not easy for them to maintain balance in the suit. So, it's not anyone's fault that he fell. But the fact that he stood up and continued his performance is already worth respect. Kudos to care bears! :D

That was very professional of the mascot to continue despite falling off. It's quite difficult to see with the mascot head on. Also, can you imagine being in that suit and dancing? SINGAPORE: Supermarket chain NTUC FairPrice has said that a picture making its rounds on the Internet, showing what looks to be halal pork is a hoax, and that the picture is the same doctored image that surfaced in 2007. Back then, the supermarket chain had lodged a police report for what it called a "wilful act of mischief". The picture shows a packet of "Pasar Fresh Pork" with a halal certification sticker on it. FairPrice said the original packaging does not come with the sticker, adding that it understands the serious religious implications of the matter. Muslims are forbidden from eating pork, and such "halal" labels are reserved for food products that do not contain pork or other non-permissible products. FairPrice said it was alerted of the picture on Monday. It added it hopes to bring the issue to a close in order to avoid unnecessary confusion or offence that may result in the continued circulation of the image.

ISA like Dr Tony Tan mentioned, is a blunt instrument but may be useful when dealing with terrorism. However, more often than not, ISA has been used more for political oppression. Sadly, ISA can be used on anyone that the government thinks that may bring harm to the stability of the nation. One famous example is Mr Mas Selamat.

When TJS said that ISA was used on political opponents, TT objected and said that that was a serious charge and that TJS better have evidence to back it up. Do your research. Thousands of men arrested under ISA were political oppositions.

Its not about who's emotional or not.

ISA, just like a homeland security act in the USA, is a breach of basic human rights to have a right to be judged in a fair court.

Moreover, indefinite detention, the uses of whatever forms of coercing confession, is truly a serious serious issue.

Arrests based on pre crime knowledge is a very grey area, one that the government must define very very clearly.

In my view, the ISA, a law which provides for indefinite detention without trial is unjust and contradicts our constitution which guarantees all accused persons a fair trial. Also, as has been pointed out by others, it can be easily abused by the govt of the day.

This has been shown in the unjust detention of political detainees such as Dr Lim Hock Siew, Teo Soh Lung, Francis Cheng etc. For one thing, a person can be detained without trial indefinitely, with no form of redress or explanation allowed. There is absolutely no transparency in the process and God knows how many others have been detained without the public knowing about it.

Tony Tan defended its existence on the fact that we'll still need it somehow to counter terrorists, while TJS attacked it on the fact that it has been used to counter dissidents as well. Both of them have a point, but personally I feel the Act should still stay because dissidents are only a small part of who the Act defends our nation against.

Political opponents are not terrorists, unless proven that they are disrupting security and stability. I like TT's initial speech. His argument was succinct and subtle...not overly personal and critical. "My view is that the constitution has laid this out very clearly...what the president can do and cannot do...what are his limits and relationship with the government and this is the office which all of us are running for. Tan Jee Say isn't a very good speaker, he's not confident enough and keeps fudging his sentences and words. Could have something hidden in his agenda. Tan Cheng Bock tries his best to sound impartial and he does come across as intelligent. Tony Tan sounds like he's trying to suck up to TOC in his opening speech and avoids going into the same arguments as the other 3 PEs (for good reason). TKL seems most grounded and appeals to SGians the most, IMO.

After watching both Part 1 and 2, I came to the conclusion Tony Tan regurgiated too much PAP lines. Few times he avoided and did not answer the questions, despite clearly put across to him. @vistory I think you are referring to the last win of the three - the win for Singapore. The six seats creates a new benchmark and may be considered as a norm. As opposed to two, that is considered a win. As regards the percentage of votes in relation to the seats, we are using the plurality voting system, as opposed to countries like France where there are two rounds. This might seem unfair this also mean that it will be harder for the PAP if they are no longer in government.

Failure is a stepping on to something greater..? As much I believe in learning from past mistakes, academic failure can easily be a major disaster here. It may not necessarily signify the end of the road but it sure takes a hell lot more than great effort and luck to get back on the otherwise already arduous academic track.

@redsummerwings I think the moderator asked for the opinions of the other candidates as well; there was just a period where some questions are directed only to Dr Tony Tan. Yes, he might not express his personal opinion, but his expressions of opinions (or the lack of) leaves the electorate to cast their votes. I think that is professional of the moderator.
